YOUR MISSIONS

 

The SCADA Engineer Associate applies professional engineering knowledge to support the design, development, integration, testing and operation of SCADA, monitoring, control and communication systems for renewable energy and industrial projects.

For SCADA/RTU/Controller and associated systems, functional and architecture study, definition and documentation shall be delivered with a high level of quality, reliability and robustness.

Software development and testing knowledge and skills, following best practices and industry standards are required.

The role focuses on delivering accurate and reliable engineering outputs, supporting project execution and acting as a technical reference, ensuring a continuous development and improvement in SCADA architectures, cybersecurity, automation systems, industrial communications and software programming.

 

Project & Engineering support

  • Perform and review technical documentation such as SCADA Functional Descriptions, architecture diagrams, network layouts, I/O lists and signal definitions.
  • Perform and review SCADA-related documentation for system integration, grid compliance and project execution.
  • Coordinate with Electrical, Power Systems and Automation teams to ensure consistency across engineering disciplines.

SCADA systems & Automation

  • Perform and review design and evaluation of SCADA architectures at plant and central level.
  • Assist in selection and technical comparison of SCADA, RTU, PLC, networking and monitoring solutions.
  • Perform and support integration of SCADA systems with plant controllers, protection systems, metering devices and centralized monitoring platforms.
  • Apply basic cybersecurity principles to SCADA and automation systems under guidance.

Software development, configuration & testing

  • Software development and tests based on project requirements, backlog and roadmap.
  • Perform and support configuration and deployment of SCADA and monitoring software.
  • Perform and review HMI development, alarm management, events and trending configuration.
  • Participate in FAT, SAT and commissioning activities (remote or on-site), supporting testing and issue resolution.
  • Troubleshoot SCADA, communication and integration issues during commissioning and operation.

Operational Support & Continuous Improvement

  • Provide supervised local and remote technical support to assets under operation.
  • Perform, review and maintain user manuals, O&M documentation and technical reports.
  • Contribute to internal tools, templates, standards and lessons learned.
  • Study and propose improvements for system quality, reliability and robustness, ensuring the application of such improvements within systems.
  • Participate in knowledge-sharing activities within the COE.
 

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCES

  • Degree or Master’s in Electrical, Automation, Control, Computer or related Engineering fields.
  • 3–5 years of experience in SCADA, automation, control systems or industrial/energy projects.
  • Working knowledge of SCADA systems, automation & control concepts (PLCs, RTUs) and industrial communication protocols.
  • Software programming and testing skills, including database, API/web services. (async programming and Node.js is advised)
  • Basic knowledge of Substation automation and plant control systems and Cybersecurity principles applied to OT systems.
  • Supporting tools like CAD (AutoCAD is preferred), Microsoft Office (advanced).
  • Professional working proficiency in English (French or Portuguese is a plus).
  • Availability for national and international travel.
